Why DREAM11 is not gambling ?

Now a days there are multiple applications available on which first you have to pick sport, make team and then you have to pay some money. You may or may not win depending on your team's and your player's performance.

Central Government has Public Government Act which is applicable all over India and state government is given power to act according as they wish. Gambling may include lotteries, Casinos and other games like flush and betting on horse races. Here is a twist, Lotteries are legal in 13 states and Casinos in Goa and Sikkim.

Playing Dream11 is a game of skill. You pick sport, you make team then you pay some money to be in a lot. If in that lot your team performs well you get some money. So, picking a team, which player will play which player won't play, what is player's track record, what is ground condition so it is game of skill not game of chance or luck.

On this basis High court of Punjab and Haryana so far has ruled out Dream11 as gambling and betting game. IN India laws for online betting industry is quite a blurry line. Some states have allowed games like online Rummy and Other games but others like Andhra Pradesh has banned any online gambling games. AND now it is more than 6,000+ Crore industry which pays 18% GST so there is urgent need of rules and regulations here…
